Digital Story Creating - there are many great tools available online that will allow children to create their own stories, which will allow them to practice sentence structure, spelling, word formation, and think about the elements of a story. Some of these resources worth trying are: ToonDoo (a tool that allows children to make their own cartoons); ZooBurst (a tool for making your own online pop-up books); and Storybird (a tool that allows students to create their own art-inspired story)

Blogging - Blogging can be a useful tool for young children who are just learning how to read and write, or are looking to get better at these skills. Kidblog is a website that is safe for teachers and students to blog. Blogging will allow your students to get familiar with skills such as spelling, word and sentence formation, as well as telling stories (real or not).

Health Education Resources:

BrainPOP Jr. - Health I could not choose just one category from this page, since there are so many areas that fit so well when teaching grade two health education. This link will take you to a fabulous page, full of many different categories for teaching a wide variety of areas in health education, including: feelings, illness, well-being, and many many more. Please feel free to explore this wonderful resource and choose what interests you and fits into what you are teaching!

BAM! Body and Mind - this website is full of great information for students to read, all dealing with issues in the health curriculum. On this website you will find videos about diseases, nutrition, the body, and many other areas. Students have the opportunity to watch the videos, play games, challenge themselves with trivia, and and even create their own fitness calendar.

Mathematics Resources:

BrainPOP Jr. - Addition and Subtraction this link will take you to the main page for addition and subtraction, where you will find many areas of this large topic further broken down. Feel free to explore the many options this page has to offer and find the areas that best suit what you need!

BrainPOP Jr. - Pictographs this link takes you to a video that will help you introduce the concept of pictographs to your students. There are also lesson plans, activities, and many more neat features to go along with the video, which will help you students further understand this new concept!

BrainPOP Jr. - Matter this link is full of information that covers a wide range of topics in the grade four science curriculum, including areas in both the Physical Science as well as the Earth and Space Science categories. In this resource you will find information and videos relating to matter, which includes the states of matter and how changes to matter occur.

BrainPOP Jr. - Communities this link is full of great resources to help you teach your students about the many different aspects of communities, including a video, background information, activities, and many other fun and educational tools your students will enjoy.

PBS Teachers - this website covers almost all of the above teaching areas. This link has multiple pages full of various teaching resources, including videos, online interactive activities, as well as lesson plans. There are so many activities I could not pick one, so feel free to browse to find activities that best suite your classroom.

Jeopardy Review Game - if you are lucky enough to have a SmartBoard in your classroom, this link will provide you with a Jeopardy game generator. This game generator will help you create your very own Jeopardy style game to use as a review tool in your classroom.

Studyladder - I put this resource under other because it covers all of the subjects listed above. You do have to sign up for this website, but once you have a profile it allows you to search by subject area and then you can pick your grade. You also have the option to search for the type of resource you want from a large selection, including; assessment, challenges, interactive activities, interactive play, videos, and many more.

Gamequarium -this website is another great website that looks at each of the subjects listed above. On this website you will find videos, games, and activities for each subject area, and all of these are divided by grade which makes it easier to find what you are looking for.
